I have a flywheel that came off a 52 engine will it work on my pre 48 engine, what are the differences if any-?

No, the flywheels are different. If you set both flywheels on a 1" slug of metal ON THE FLYWHEEL CRANKSHAFT mating surface next to each other you could see the ring gear is in a different spot.
