I have a friend who has a flathead with C6739 stamped on the driver side in the machined area by the intake manifold. Any ideas as to what this means?

Thanks, Tom Would you guess that it was a re builder such as a local machine shop etc ? As I recall the engines rebuilt by Ford had an R in front of the number

Joe, I am only guessing, but it would probably have been a re-builder that supplied engines to mechanics and retail outlets like Sears. Jasper was one of these. Tom
