I found a NOS trunk handle for my 39 coupe. I need to remove my lock and install it in the new handle. I can see a "pin" sticking up holding the lock in place. I have tried turning the lock with the key. I though there would be a place where the lock would turn and the pin drop into a hole when depressed and it remove. Thus far no luck. If I am correct, in approx what position does the key need to be in for the release pin to drop. Thanks Larry

I have little experience with actually removing the cylinder, but I've read that you turn the key 1/4 turn, press pin and pull lock out. Probably easier said than done.
