The 36 Ford Bob Drake repro. steering wheel was successfully repaired with 2 coats of JB Weld it bonded the stainless spokes with the diecast hub very well I had my 135 pound granddauhter stand on the wheel and there was no movement at all. dansford

I tried the JB weld, but it popped out. I think the failure was due to not having a larger amount of hub material around the stainless spokes. With a Dremel tool, I am going to enlarge the area a bit more, then drill holes into the zinc to better hold the JB Weld. In an earlier post, I asked for suggestions for how to fix the banjo wheel and was encouraged to contact Lauren Matley, a V8 member who has restored these wheels in the past. Unfortunately he no longer repairs wheels, but spent a lot of time giving me suggestions. In addition to JB Weld, he recommended a product called PC 13, found at ACE Hardware stores.
