Basically you will have to use the entire front clip of either a 35 or 36 to make everything fit correctly. There is also a difference between the 35 and 36 rear fenders.

trjford8: I believe your response was appropriate for a 35/36 car, but to answer his question regarding a pickup I would suggest that yes, they can be interchanged.

trjford8: The last time I worked on a 35 truck was in 1962, and I do remember that the hood latch handles on 35 and 36 were different. If my fading memory serves me, the 35 had two, and the 36 had one center latch handle that worked both corner latches. tymothyd2: You might get a better answer to your question if you post it in the "truck" section of this Forum. That subject heading has folks following it that can give you much more detailed differences between the two visually similar years.

Going ba k to the original question.......NO The radiator was moved forward in 1936 commercial vehicles and the grille sh*ll had to be deepened toallow for the forward radiator. This prohibits a simple swapping of grille and hood sheet metal.

Don: Thank You for weighing in on this. I was unaware of the radiator issue, although I worked on both 35 and 36 trucks. As I recall, lifting the hood sides on a 35 was challenging, as you had to rotate both handles down with both hands, while lifting up at the same time. I hope that the original poster "feeds-back" his receipt of your detailed information. I grew up with 35 & 36 "ton and a half" trucks that we used in orchard operations in So Cal in the 50's. Needless to say, I'm not a particular good authority given the length of time that has elapsed since then.
