Topic: picture of 1947 59AB orig. coil mounting bracket

I have found an original Ford script 6 volt coil for a 1947 59AB flathead V-8 and Skip Haney has rebuilt it. My problem is I do not have a picture or diagram of what the original mounting bracket and location, is for the 59AB engine. Does anyone have a picture or drawing of what the original 2 hole bracket looks like and its location for mounting, so I can mount the old original rebuilt coil with the two ears, for mounting. Thanks for your help. Jim (dixiejak)

Attached is a pic of the original coil bracket on my '47 59AB. I will attach a few more photos from varying angles. Mounting is on the front two intake manifold bolts on the driver's side of the engine.

This is the same bracket that is on my 42 so it must be good for all years that the coil was separated from the top of the distributor. You shouldn't have any trouble finding one. As Steve has said it mounts on the first two manafold bolts on the driver's side of the intake manafold.

Hi Steve, Thank you so much for the great pics on the location of the installation of the original 6 volt Ford script ignition coil on a 59AB engine The pics were great and showed me exactly what I needed to know. Also I have ordered the used bracket from DD931 which is a wonderful find also. Thanks again to all.
