Topic: 1951 Ford Convertible Rear seat back

I am restoring a 1951 Ford convertible and need the back for the rear seat. I have one for a 1951 Victoria but it has a wing on each side. Does anyone know the dimensions of the seat back? Can the Victoria seat back be modified to fit by cutting off the wings? Thanks, Gene

Thanks,
Gene

Did you check with leBaron-Bonney to see if they have the spring? The rear spring for the 49-51 convertible should be the same. The Victoria backrest may fit with a little modification.

You can buy a new reproduction of the Stromberg 97, or a new Dennis Carpenter model 94 or have your current carburetor professionally rebuilt by Daytona Carburetor or Ken Isador in Connecticut, if you are sure that your problems are carburetor related.

Either the 97 or the 94 should work fine on your car, just make sure that you tell the rebuilder about your 3,000 ft requirement.

No carburetor will perform correctly with stuck or leaking valves in the engine. I would fix your engine problems first and then you may find that your carburetor will work fine.
