On 46-48 Fords, I know there is a wave washer between shoulder bolt and arm but is there any thin washer to go between the arm and hood to keep from scratching the paint? Thanks

Had this same question wrto a '47 Merc and found Roy Nacewicz is not only a great source for these (original style and color) items but also an encyclopedia of knowledge regarding the same. I have no affiliation with him other than a shared resource for rebuilding of flatheads who utilized Roy as his resource for all original fasteners in the rebuilding of his motors. I also purchased my replacement hood nuts, bolts, washers, and wire as well as other fasteners from Roy. He can be contacted at: http://www.fordscript.com/ford_bolts/index.html Even if you are not restoring a car for Concourse judging you will likely find Roy invaluable in your project. I can tell you what came off of my original '47 which Roy confirmed was original but suggest you hear it from someone with the original drawings and products. Hope this helps. Steve
