I HAVE A 1946 FORD FLATHEAD ( 24 STUD ) WITH 59 RAISED NUMBER ON THE BELL HOUSING. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT TYPE OF HEADS I CAN USE ON THE 59 BLOCK ? I HAVE 59A-B HEADS , GAE-0 HEADS, A HEADS.ALL 3 SETS OF HEADS ARE 24 STUD & HAVE DIFFERENT DIAMETER WATER JACKET HOLES IN THE CENTER OF THE HEAD.DOES THE DIFFERENT DIAMETER WATER JACKET HOLES MAKE THE FLATHEAD RUN HOTTER OR COOLER? CAN I USE THE STYLE-D HEAD GASKET ( TRIANGLE/TRAPEZOID/TRAPEZOID ) FOR ALL THESE HEADS ?

The 59AB heads would be correct for your engine. The A heads would have to be reworked to enlarge the valve area in order to work on your block. They are for the 39-41 block. I do not know what the GAE-O heads fit.

You should use the FEL-PRO Part # 7283B head gasket.
