Topic: '34 removing rad cap from greyhound

Part of installing Skip's 3# valve in the radiator overflow tube is installing a thicker gasket in the radiator cap to seal closed the radiator. It looks like the best way to do this is to remove the cap from the greyhound ornament. It's held on with one screw but, so far, I have not been able to get this screw to turn.

Any ideas?

Use a 50/50 mix of ATF and Acetone. This is said to be the best solution by far, over anything on the market to loosen frozen bolts. Get ot to wiggle first, no hard pressure, just wiggle more and more until it works freely. For safety, not knowing what would happen, I would be careful to not get any on the dog, just a drop on the screw itself each day till it loosens up.

Thanks, I soaked the screw with Kroil (not quite as good as acetone and ATF but it works)for 4 days and with little difficulty the screw came right out.
