After running the car then shutting off and attempting to restart it will not start what you suggest?

hoodat: This group is remarkable at finding out problems with early Fords. But...You got to give us some more background other than it it "doesn't start". Please tell us more.

The cause for the no-start condition could be any one of many things. If the car was recently run and is still hot, the coil may be going bad. The condensor in the ignition system may have failed. There may be on open circuit in the ignition primary system due to a bad ignition resistor, intermittent connection in the ignition switch, or wire which has: shorted out, fallen off, or broken. An old "rule of thumb" when trouble shooting a spark ignition engine is that 90% of the time the problem is with the ignition system. Are you sure you have fuel to the carburetor? Does the engine crank at a speed sufficient to start the car? Please let us know what you find.

When you say it doesn't start what do you mean? Does it not turn over or does it turn over and won't start. we definitely need more information and symptoms.

Turn the ignition switch on. The amp gage will deflect a little. Then hit the starter. Tell us you did that first.
