What is the normal compression of a 21 stud flathead for a 36 Cabriolet?

I would say anything around 90# across the board and up would be acceptable OMO. ken ct.

Depending upon what heads you have with the 48- Aluminum heads 6.38 to 1. With the 68- Aluminum heads 6.3 to 1.

When checking compression, remove all spark plugs and block the carb wide open. Check compression in all cylinders and record the results. If you note any cylinders much lower than the others, squirt oil into them and recheck. If the compression rises, the piston rings in that cylinder are worn or stuck. If not, the valves are leaking. If the compression is even between all cylinders, and above 80 pounds, it is OK. One or more low cylinders mean an overhaul is due.
