I am new to the early Ford arena. Can anyone provide any sort of tips or advice for restoration as well as a place where I can start looking to purchase parts. I live in Glendora, CA.

Catchy name !! Pic is Clydes last car . A 34 dlx 4d Photographed by me in Verdi NV in Dec 2010 . On your questions a good start would be the V-8 clubs 33-34 book available here? Well I think it is anyway . Not perfect but the best currently available . Questions can be put forth here and there are folks here that are familiar with 33-34 Fords .

Another look at Clydes last car . Well paperwork said Ruth Warren - Topeka KS but Clyde didn't bother with little details like that .

California is loaded with V-8 Lovers and I suggest that you join the Early Ford V-8 Club and the Regional Group closest to you. Click on Back to Home Page in the upper right corner of this page and scroll down to Regional Group Directory. Contact the one that is close to where you live and attend a couple of meetings as a guest. You will find a lot of comradeship and advice as well as a chance to see restored cars.

I just finished my '34 Tudor. The 33/34 book was the best money I spent (period). As far as parts - most, but not everything, is available from several online sources. Your local club will be a great source of information for services (i.e. Skip Haney) and parts that are not reproduced.

Also - give some thought to what you want to do with the car and let that guide you as well. For example, if you are not trying to win a car show, stainless nuts and bolts would be something to consider.

Check out The Early Ford Store in San Dimas, (909) 305-1955. A little farther is C&G in the San Diego area, http://www.cgfordparts.com/, (760) 740-2400. Also check out CW Moss in Orange, cwmossautoparts.com, (714) 639-3083. I think that is about it for the local stores. I will leave it to others for the national stores.

Also there are lots of swap meets in the L.A and San Diego area. The 3rd weekend of February is the Big 3 Swap meet in San Diego and you will find a lot of good V-8 parts there.
For a "newbie" the purchase of the V-8 Club's 33-34 Ford book is an excellent guide for anyone with a 33-34 Ford.

Hello Clyde, welcome to the V8 Club Forums!

You will find much advice here from some seriously knowledgeable folks.

I see you are only about an hour drive to Thousand Oaks where there is a V8 Club National Meet being held next week Sept 2 - 5. http://www.earlyfordv8.org/early-ford-meets.cfm

Also http://venturav8s.com/

I'd encourage you to find some time to stop by. It will really get your juices flowing. There will be a swap meet where you might make some parts contacts.

Thank you for the info David J. Awesome pics of the Bonnie and Clyde car. The vehicle I own is the death scene car from the History Channel's Bonnie and Clyde mini series.Looking forward to making it look nice.

VT/JeffH I appreciate the warm welcome. I will definitely try to make some time to visit these places. I do need to meet people and see other cars to get an idea of what it is I want to do. Thank you
