I use Castro 20W-50. It helps maintain idle oil pressure in hot weather.

Search forums - many good discussions about the subject of oil brands, types and viscosity. Oil viscosity (range) recommendations depend on condition of your engine, your seasonal changes, and preferences.

Most in forums seem to use multi-viscosity oils but a few use straight-weight oil (as and if available) as was spec'd when our cars were built. If you use say a 20W-50 multi-viscosity and are in a colder climate, you probably should drop down to a 10W-40, 5W-40 or similar during winter. i.e. I am in northeast (NYS), have a rebuilt with 33,000m. Since the rebuild I use regular detergent 10W-30 summer and 5W-30 winter (unfiltered); get about 70 lbs at idle with cold engine; 20 lbs at idle when engine at 185 degrees. Your needs may be different.
