When I hook up the rear sway bar on my 48 it pulses the left side of the car down making it lean left by an inch. Remove it and sits straight, tried 2 different ones and same result. Any thoughts would appreciated . Thanks

Make sure your spring is centered in the crossmember.The center bolt of the spring may not be in the center hole of the crossmember.

My 75 year memory is not too good, but I'm thinking that the front and rear sway bars were different. Could you be trying to a front bar on the rear? Just a thought.

Clifford, it is a rear bar and you are right there is a difference between the front and the rear. Thanks for the input

Check the rear spring shackles to see if either are stuck in their bushings, and that the panhard bar (the correct name) is also free on its pivots. I put Telflon bushings in my '47, and it cured most of the leaning. Most old Fords lean a bit as the springs weaken. Turning the spring end for end sometimes lessens the problem.
