  After finishing a 47 Fordor and a 53 Sunliner, one should take a rest. However-have a 48 F-1 on the way.
What is source for information and repair manuals, etc?
Thanks,
John Wells

John - You should get a copy of the Ford Shop Manual for 1949-50-51 F-Series Trucks. It's dated April, 1951 and effectively covers '48, since they are practically identical to '49. I have a '48 F-1 six cylinder and have found this book to be incredibly helpful. It has a maroon cover and is marked Form 7099-A. I don't know where to get one directly. I got mine from a literature dealer at Hershey about ten years ago. I'm sure they are out there. Be persistent!

thanks so much,Will do. catalogs like Macs or C&G show 32-48 passenger, and 32-47 pickup. Assuming this is because the 48 pickup had the 49-53 engine?

Yes - The '48 cars continued the '47 design, but the '48 truck is a completely new design and has the 8BA V8 or the "H" six cylinder engine. They are not included in the "Green Bible". The parts dealers include the "48 trucks with the newer ones. For '48 parts you need the 1948-1956 Ford Truck Parts and Accessories Catalog(s). Two volumes, one Text and the other Illustrations. You must have both because they are cross-referenced. Again, very valuable books for the owner of a '48 F-1!!
