Many years ago I had a friend that had a '36 Ford 5 win standard.. The car had no radio/heater or other accessories..
The weight on the std cpe was a little over 2,900 lb.. We then put my '36 Deluxe 5 win on the scales. The weight of my '36 was over 3,200 lb. My cpe has the normal Delue equipment plus radio/heater, under dash ash tray, string wind clock and a conv cpe/roadster type of tool box over the right rear fender inside of the trunk.
You would not think that these few accessories would add up to over 200 lb's.

Oppps, Forgot to note that my car also has a Columbia.

John, The curb weight(car loaded with gas but no cargo or passengers) of a 36 3 window coupe is 2636 lbs.

Thanks for the replies, I did not think the options would weigh so much but it seems right. anyone know the weight of just the front or rear?
Thanks again

I'm not sure why it is important, but any place with a drive-on scale, such as a truck stop or feed mill can weigh the axles separately.

If I can get the front and rear weight I can have the spring rate adjusted so there is no guesswork on ride height. I should of weighed the vehicle befor dissasembly my bad

John, Every leaf of both your springs are a matter of record, spelled out in Ford literature. If you wish to replace your springs with newly manufactured ones, your dealer should have the cross reference charts to work with.

If your goal is to have a new spring made talk to Eaton Springs www.eatonsprings.com They made a new rear spring for my 42 wagon. They have all the information on hand to make an old Ford spring.
