Topic: 34 engine overhaul

34 3-window    -- 02-04-2010 @ 9:11 AM
I have a original 34 chassis with motor and all, that was used as a orchard buggie. The motor has never been opened up. I am looking for someone to overhaul the engine for my 34 3-window project. Who in your opion is the best flat head restorer on the west coast? My engine is in Washinton State.

First you need to make sure you have a 34 motor. If so you need to find someone who can pour the new babbit bearings. If you are a V-8 Club member I would recommend that you use your club roster and call V-8ers in your area. Most of them will know who can do the job and who is competent to do it. You might also call Mike McKennett in Gresham, Oregon. He has restored many V-8s and I'm sure he knows of an engine rebuilder in the area. His company is called "Restorations and Reproductions".Another V-8er who might have some info is Terry Tindle in McMinneville,Oregon
