  I AM TRYING TO INSTALL FRONT BUMPER BRACKETS ON MY 35 FORD, WHAT IS THE SECREAT FOR THE BACK BOLT THRU THE FRAME, I CAN,T REACH THE NUT FROM THE BACK, DOSE ANYTHING HAVE TO COME OFF IN THE FRONT, GRILL OR WHATEVER, HENRY COULD NOT HAVE MADE THIS THAT DIFFICULT TO INSTALL. THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU MAY HAVE

  35BOBS: When the front bumper brackets were installed on "the line", there were no body parts installed, so an assembly line person could reach in there and hold the nut with a wrench. After the fact, it's a problem on most mid-thirties to 48 Fords. About the only suggestion I have, short of pulling off the front sheet metal would be to make a "custom" box wrench (cut an open wrench in two), and affix the nut into the box-end with adhesive. After tightening, you will have to back off the bolt a tad to allow the box end to be released.

  Not as bad as it seems. If you have some "stubby wrenches" it fairly easy. A 4 or 5" stubby works great.

Tape the nut in from the back side of the box end and any washers you need on the front side.

I find it easier to put the nut on the bolt than it is to fish the bolt thru the holes in the frame and bracket.
