Topic: Window Channel

I'm looking for some help. I have a 1947 Ford convertible. There is a channel on the back side of each vent-window frame that the driver/passenger window fits in. Inside that channel is a black wooly-like black material that protects the driver/passenger window frame from scratches. Mine is worn out. Can I replace just that our do I need to replace the entire vent-window frame? What exactly is the item called? Does anyone have a part number?

A picture attached of what i'm talking about with red box around the area in question.

Thanks for the help. Gotta get ready for Gettysburg.....

Check with Mac's Auto Parts,Bob Drake, or Dennis Carpenter, I know it is [or was] available for closed cars, I'm thinking convertibles would be the same.

you should be able to replace that channel. Check with your local glass shop to see if they may have some in stock or can order it for you. There's also a company called Restoration Specialties that would have the material.
