Which is correct for the EAB pump to carb fuel line, 1/4" or 5/16"?
Thanks Don

Seems strange that over 60 members have viewed this thread and no one knows the correct fuel line size for the EAB('53) . I did locate one guy with a '52 EAB V8 who has a fuel line which measures 5/16" on the outside which he thinks is original. Be interesting to know the inside diameter and if Ford started 5/16th in '52.
Thanks, Don

Ford went by outside diameter NOT inside. 5/16 is the OD diameter of the later line like I told you. 1/4" OD line is the older size 49 or 50 and older. ken ct.

  Big Red,
I understand your frustration over many views and no responses. The problem with this site is that people can read your post but if they want to answer it, it means they have to go back to the beginning and sign in every time. So they don't bother to . Now to answer your question, I use 1/4" copper on all my carb to pump lines even the Merc 8BA with the bigger teapot carb.. I believe for stock street engines 1/4" has plenty of supply. So, use whichever line that you have fittings for.

  John, Thanks.
As I mentioned earlier, and as Kenct confirmed and my '52 friend, it seems Ford started the 5/16th fuel line in 1952. Since I had the 5/16 line and fittings, I used those and now I am ready for Gettysburg.
Thanks, Don

Traditionally, pipe and tubing meant to conduct gasses and fluids are sized by their ID. Structural tubing is always referenced to its' OD.
