Hey Guys! On a '37 Ford 85 HP using the Stromberg 97 carb, what is a good place to start off the carb mixture screws on a after rebuild first start up? How many turns out? Thanks.

Assuming you have a stock 97, and not one that is modified with externally adjustable main jets,
turn the idle mixture screws out about 1-1/2 turns, and adjust at idle with a vacuum gage for
maximum vacuum. The vacuum gage can be connected to the windshield wiper port on the manifold.
You may have to adjust the idle speed down, once the idle mixture is set, and re-adjust the idle mixture again at the lower speed for maximum vacuum.
