Many thanks for the link. I'm still not sure what I have (awaiting transportation from Portland OR to Columbus MS). It has 2 ash trays in the front dash, but does not have the crank out handle for the vent windows. The hood says "Deluxe", but it was advertised as a "Super Deluxe" (it's a street rod now).

Hello Rick and welcome to the site. I might suggest that you purchase the V-8 Club's 41-48 Ford Book. It's
loaded with facts regarding these cars. Even though your car is a street rod it will help you a great deal and answer many of your questions. You can purchase the book on the front page of this site. For information the crank out vent windows were discontinued at the end of 1946 in the closed cars.

Welcome, Rick. Here's another subtle difference in the Deluxe and Super Deluxe: I have a 46 4 door in my boneyard, and the tail light housings do not have the chrome trim on the top. Instead they have a raised area with 5 parallel lines about 1/4" apart running length ways. Good luck with your project. Gene

Many thanks for the info guys!!! Mine seems to be a SD based on the additional minor stuff (2 front ash trays biggest clue). The VIN on the OR title provided (I don't have the car yet), shows B99A...., but this source ( http://www.classiccardatabase.com/specs.php?series=4680&year=1948&model=26232 ) shows the VIN should be 899A.... The dealer confirms that the VIN plate reads B99A...
