Topic: 1934 roadster fuel sending unit

I want to return my fuel gauge & sending unit to the original hydrostatic version. I have the parts, I've cleaned the gauge, have a clean sending unit and now want to install.
==> Is there an easy way to install the sending unit? It looks like I need to remove the tank, since the access to the tank top appears insufficient to remove and replace the old sending unit (I have taken the rumble seat back off - but the access plate is still insufficiently large to replace the sending unit). Can I remove the spare tire bracket and rear body skin to avoid removing the tank? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

No suggestions… so I ended-up reaching the top of the tank without having to remove it. I had to create access with some minor surgery to the tank cover panel. I made a cover to the access that I enlarged that looks quite nice and is entirely obscured once the rumble seat is put back into place.
