What kind of modifications will one have to do to install a 1937 Ford steering unit in a 1936 Ford? Thanks , zoopie

I did this on my 36. Best to replace the mounting bracket on the frame. Or can drill some new holes. Ignition drop must also be moved a little.

We put a '37 steering box in a friends '36 Phaeton a little over a year ago. We first tried redrilling the original '36 steering box mounting bracket for the '37 box and this would not work for us so we removed that bracket and installed a '37-'40 repro bracket from Bob Drake. This allowed the '37 box to bolt right in place using the '36 steering column tube, column drop, banjo wheel, and horn button, light switch rod. This conversion gave a very noticeable improvement in ease of steering
