On each side of the top assembly on 46-48 convertibles there are 2 rivets, I need to replace one does anyone know where they can be purchased. Thanks

Thanks guys, it is one of the chrome rivets, the part that is flared over on the back has chipped off the rivet is still holding but not by much. Thanks again for the imput

I don't recognize chrome rivets. Do they show on the diagram I posted? In most cases, it is better, and easier, ti replace any rivets with a suitable bolt. Clinching a rivet completely usually isn't possible unless a hammer and anvil is used."

Supereal, there is 2 maybe 3 large chrome rivets on each side mind were pretty sad so I painted them to match the irons. I believe I have a book with part numbers I will look for it and let you know what I find. Thanks again, Rick

The Chrome rivets are P/N 356975, 356976 and 356980. If you need the dimensions, I can try and scan the pictures in the catalog. Tom

Those "rivets" are actually bolt type fasteners. If you wish, I'll scan and post the chart with the dimensions for all the top bolts. I have restored these cars, and currently have a '47 convertible. Most of these are actually eccentrics that are necessary to adjust the top. As some were missing on my car, we had to make them is our machine shop. For the "chrome" type, we used polished stainless steel. To my knowledge, none are being reproduced

Thanks Supereal, I have the measurements, I am hoping there is enough of the rivet sticking through so I can weld a washer on it. Thanks to all for the help

I knew of a man in Maryland, he's gone now, that was making a replacement for the large head convt rivets using stainless steel with a recessed allen headed bolt and small washer on the back side.. Pretty trick stuff, I purchased a set of them for my '39 convt. I had all of the other special, "shouldered" top bolts made out of stainless steel.. A little pricey, but better than having bolts that did not have the correct large hex kead, shoulders and thread size.. Do it right the first.. Is my motto.. Bill 36 5 win delx cpe
