Anyone have or know what the color code for 40 coupe garnish molding dark mahogany is? There was wood grain and dark mahogany. I need to know what type paint to use for the dark mahogany.

I trust you realize the wood graining was not simply sprayed on?
So, if I do understand your question correctly, you want to know what the BASE color was prior to applying the wood grain?
By the way, are you doing a DeLuxe of Ford V8 model?

Mike, I have a1940 de.luxe coupe . I am restoring back to original. I read some where that the garnish moldings came in dark mahogany or with wood grain , is this correct or wood grain only for the deluxe.I do realize that wood grain is not sprayed on. Thanks

ALL DeLuxe models in 1940 had wood grained moldings.
The picture herein is a very accurate depiction.
