Here is my 36 woodie just back from paint: [--- I have a Mexican friend who can't speak much english name Louis who I met as a fruit tree customer when I was selling citrus trees out of my back yard. He referred me to Jorge the car painter with 25 years of paint/body shop experience. Jorge works in a body shop and evenings and weekends he paints cars also. It was a gamble that payed off. I had a bid of $10,000 from a hot rod shop, the same one that put in the patch panels on the fenders. I delivered the woodie in black epoxy primer with minimal body work required. Jorge block sanded and painted the Bambalino Blue for $2,500. Very little bondo required.I provided paint and primer. Used Restoration Shop single stage paint from TCP. Couldn't be happier. I towed the woodie 110 miles there and back since I moved recently. Wild 36 color isn't it? I love it and wanted by woodie to look like fun as well as be fun. I painted all the interior parts that usually are cordoba tan, blue as well. Next job is taking the top off to refinish the top wood and repair a spot of rot above the passenger door. Any ideas as to how to get the nailed on rain gutter off without destroying it?
