Topic: Rear License Plate Placement

  Hey everyone,

I'm working on a 1940 Ford Coupe and am interested in getting some opinions for the placement of the rear license plate. Right now it is under the rear of the car and is hard to see. I've seen pictures of it placed on the trunk and also on the rear chrome bumper. Any suggestions? Also, where is the best place to purchase the necessary brackets to change the placement of the plate?

Thanks for the help. -DP

The correct place is on the decklid, but it sounds like someone may have welded up or filled in the original holes. In the center of the lid on the bottom side you should find an open space in the inner liner just above the latch mechanism. In that space you may find where the original holes have been filled. The holes are in a triangle pattern.
