Looking for an outfit that can repair and rewire my 1937 Ford DeLuxe Horns. . . . 78-73B

The restoration depends on whether you are restoring a high point show car or simply want horns that look good and work. I recently restored the horns on my '37 to the look good and work category. The wiring is available from a number of suppliers (I prefer the crimped and soldered type) is easy to install and plugs into the wiring harness. Mine had been in a collision at some point and were dented and bent. I used a piece of pipe slightly smaller than the internal diameter of the horn trumpet clamped in a vise and gently tapped the dents out with a hammer. Refinished with spray can material.

Thanks for the reply. The horns need to be completely restored, not just rewired. I just want them to work, I don't care about how great they look since these are hidden under the radiator (the horns actually look pretty good). Neither of my two horns work and the innards are cooked. One horn shorted out and melted the wire, the other just don't work at all. That is where I am. Your problem is more serious than I thought. Checked Hemmings Motor News and there were no services listed for horn restoration. Did a Google Search and found the following: The Horn Works Restoration Specialist of Collector Car Horns 967 Hackett St., Beloit, WI 53511 Gary Steinkellner 608-361-0095 www.classiccarhorns.com I have no knowledge of this company but offer it as a starting point.

I know a guy who did a horn or two for me,very knowledgeable on the mechanical part. I supplied him with the correct wires from sources like Tyree Harris. Problem is this was a couple years ago and I only remember his name Larry Rose and I blieve he lives in North Carolina. If you are an Ebayer type in 6 volt horn and you will probably see his work,use 'contact seller" or ask seller a question to get info,that is actually how I related to him. His user name is LarryR .
