This object came in a box or spare parts when I purchased my '36 Tudor. I assume it is the starter resistor and fuse block, but I don't know what it fits. It is free to any club member who wants it and will pay the shipping costs. If no one wants it, please tell me what it fits and I will try to sell it on ebay. I have no idea if it works and no way to test it.

That "thingee" is a headlight vibrator and an ignition resistor on the same board. They are used on Ford vehicles from 33-48. The resistor drops voltage to the ignition coil, while the vibrator/breaker is a crude sort of protector for the headlight circuit. In the event of a short, the relay vibrates to provide an intermittent feed for the lights, sort of a self-resetting fuse so you can get home.

Is the headlight circuit protector a stock item? I'm quite sure I don't have this on my '34.

This is part # 01A-12250, ignition resistor/breaker assembly. It is the stock unit for 1940. Prior to 1940, a fuse was used in place of the breaker assembly.
The "breaker" is not a breaker by today's definition, but rather, an intermittent on/off vibrator to reduce the load on the light circuit. If you have one and it goes off (it's like a buzzer) you'd know it!

Could this part have been used on my 1934 Ford pickup? I remember taking one (very similar) off of my 34 when I was disassembling it for restoration.
I hate to say this, but the check will be in tomorrow's mail. There is no mail today due to a raging blizzard - oh, what fun it is!

Here is my 1934 Ford pickup truck, partially restored. The engine needs to be put together, and the electrical system, along with upholstery (minimal as it was), brakes, and the truck box. Having started on it in 1972, it has been a long term project, for sure.
