Topic: Lubrication Summary

I've tried to follow/find the various posts on what oil/grease to use where (1938 Ford Pickup). Thought I'd try to summarize. I know there are varying opinions, but hopefully I'm in the ballpark. Feel free to comment.

Engine Oil: Valvoline VR1
Trans/Rear End/Steering Gear Box: 140W Gear Oil (Sta-Lube SL24238)
U-Joint: JD Corn Head Grease
Front and Rear Wheel Bearings: Drum Brake Grease (Sta-Lube SL3131)
General Chassis: Mystic JT-6

Those are all fine choices, you did your homework well. One comment: You'll find a zerk fitting on the rear backing plates that should not be greased. Ford eliminated that fitting I think in 1940? because it didn't grease the wheel bearing near as well as it greased the brake shoes.
