Were there any roof racks available in 46?

Does anyone have any photos or ideas?

If you look thru the 1941 to 1948 Ford book offered by the V-8 Club there is no mention of roof racks in the main section or the accessory section.

Roof racks were usually made by aftermarket vendors. Dealers some times sold them.

In the 40's and early 50's they were usually made of oak 1x4 bolted to metal brackets with suction cups and straps to hold them to the rain gutters. Here is a link to one on E-Bay that is typical.

Thanks guys. Those VW racks on ebay look pretty cool.

I think I'll fabricate something.
