Are there any issues with dropping the 39 pan for inspection/cleaning? Do I need to lift the engine? Thanks!

You will need to raise the engine. Plus, you'll find that if you turn the crankshaft so the front throw is in the "up" position, the pan will clear better and as such be easier to remove. Mike "Kube" Kubarth
