I see a lot of comments on using this grease in steering boxes. Has anyone ever tried this in a 46-48 fan hub.? Thanks

Use only transmission oil in that fan hub. I know the decal on the fan blade says "motor oil"' but 80-90 wt is correct. After filling the hub., be sure to turn the fan so the filler hole is downward to allow excess oil to drain before replacing the filler plug. Don't use grease because the dipper in the hub can't pump it onto the shaft. I finally gave up on that hub and made a ball bearing replacement for my '47.

Thanks Supereal, your solution sounds like a winner, you should market it.

WEe did make up a few, but many thought the price was a bit steep. They are handmade, and the materials, such as the sealed bearings are not cheap. After two hubs showed signs of failure, I didn't want the fan to be tossed into my $700 radiator!

Supereal, that is a real work of art.
