Topic: picture back drops

I would like to take some pics of my '50 with a old style backdrop. You know, gas station, period correct buildings, homes etc. I see some of your cars with great backdrops. There has to be some in DFW area? Jerry

I feel your pain but since I am in Los Angeles I can't help much. You might try contacting the Parks and Recreation Department for your city and see if they have a camera club. If they do that would be a good place to ask. I usually end up going to a local park and using dirt roads, trees, and bushes for a background. Go during the week when there are less people around to get in the way and the park personally may give you access to maintenance roads or permission to park on the grass (watch out for sprinkler heads).

I would suggest that you contact the local historical society.
They no doubt have a listing of historical homes and business' in your area.
Your state should have a state historical, and most larger cities also do.

Take a look at Sunset, Adamson or Woodrow Wilson High Schools.

Too bad Sivils Drive In is long gone. Those were the days !!

jiving jer, use your roster and contact Bob York in your area. I'll bet he can give a long list of historical places in the area.
