  Hi. any one now what year this gear box from? its used on a Ford V8 Flathead 100HP engine from year 50. But now the 2 gear is destroyed.

  The serial number is from 1935. That doesn't tell you what's inside, though. Go to this website for all the right info in gearboxes. Mac Van Pelt is the man:

  The prefix of 18 would indicate that it is from the years 32-34. The "inservice" replacement is 78-7005, used for 32-39 cars and 39-48 light trucks.
