The breather tube which is under the fuel pump on my 41 flathead Has a thin wall tube that is about 41/2 inches long and 3/4" in Diameter is loose and moves up and down with the fuel pump Push rod. Is this normal or is it suppose to be fixed to the larger Tube. Thanks very much for any help ronnie

If I remember correctly the order of assembly is install push rod, install stand gasket, install ventilator tube and then the fuel pump stand. If you look at the bottom of the fuel pump stand, you will see a recess for the ventilator tube. Tom
