Topic: 1933 vs 1934 sedan

I am interested in the 1933 but notice more available 1934 sedans. Is the 1933 sedan rare? I am interested in original and not Hot Rod. Is seems like a shame that so many cars of this era have been chopped! What a shame!

As I recall '33 production was less than '34 production. according to the V8 Album put out by the V-8 Club They built a total of 74,008 '33 fordors and 125,452 '34 fordors.

While very similar, the 34 Ford sedans are better cars than the 33's for the following reasons.
1. Ten (10) more horse power. Due the a two barrel carburetor instead of one.
2. Flow through ventilation (The windows go back in the doors and body to allow front fresh air ventilation.)
3. Two hood latch handles instead of one on each side.
4. Better placement of the interior door handles too
5. Faster and cooler due to # 1 & 2 above.
6. Better looking grille & dash, in my opinion. However if I'd found the right 33, I could be happy there too.

1934 Ford's since 1972

  is that true?
The windows don't roll down on the 1933's?

Frank: The 34's had an interesting front window mechanism that allowed you to roll the window all the way up, and then crank some more. This slid the front window back to create a gap that let air in. Nice touch, and you can see the external differences by a "web" formed at the rear of the window openings, to allow for the window to seal when retracted back. Of course the windows would roll all the way down as well.
