Back to the carb. Sqeal(engine) I put new gaskets on carb. After engine warms up it still has the squeal I pulled the dipstick and to shows way over full. This indicates a bad head gasket. If so, should I change both head gaskets? Radiator does not seem real low. Thanks John

  John
The last time you changed the oil how many quarts did you put in? Despite what is says in various places you should only put in four quarts (five if you have an oil filter). This may be the cause of the high reading on your dipstick.

If you really think that a leaking head gasket is allowing coolant into the oil pan remove the drain plug and see what comes out. Any water will collect below the oil in the bottom of the oil pan.

Hold a match or a lighter under the tip of the dipstick. If it sputters, there is water in the oil.

Drained the oil No water in it

John, have you used a long screwdriver or a stethoscope to isolate the noise? Sometimes a noise may seem like it is coming from one spot but it is really coming from another.

I would check the generator, water pumps, fuel pump and other areas of the engine.
