Back to my '41. Thanks to all of your help the bushings for the front suspension are out. However, The new bushings I ordered are about 3/8's to 7/16ths of an inch longer than the old ones I removed. Checking several catalogs I do believe I have the right ones for a '41, but I am now thinking I have a '40 or '42 front suspension. Also, the front spring shakles on the car are about 1 9/16th's center of bolt to center of bolt. The new ones ordered, again, for a '41 are 2 1/4 center of bolt to center of bolt. Any help would be more than welcome. Thanks.

As you know '41 was kind of an "odd duck" year for many reasons. Numerous changes happened for 1941 and during 1941. Springs were no exception.
I can tell you from experience, you must know exactly what spring is in your car. A lot of these cars have had their spring(s) replaced with little concern for authenticity. That being the case you may have a '40 spring in it even though it is very incorrect. The '40 spring was about 1 1/2" narrower than the '41.
By '41 the shackles were about 1 9/16" center to center. The '42 - '48 were longer. Ordering from any of the repop places will probably get you something that will fit and function. Like the shackles that are meant for '42 - '48. Wrong, and they will change the geometry of your car, but they will fit.
The '42 springs were even longer than the '41. About another 1 1/2" as I recall. Plus, to confuse this issue more, the shackle pins were a larger diameter by sometime in '41.

Thanks for the input. That resolves a few questions I had.
