Topic: The "UK" scams

Good advice about demanding pictures. I had my own experience with someone, allegedly in the UK, who had a part I needed. He wanted a very hefty price. When I asked for pictures he huffed in an e-mail about not having any.....so I forgot that deal. (It was probably that tobacco shop.) Picture requests are great threshhold questions to help separate the real from the bogus. Even seeing pictures, though, we can never be absolutely sure, can we?

I had an a man tell me that he had a 52 Lincoln for sale. His price was pretty low for a complete running car. He also said that he would delver it to my door for approval. When I asked if it had power steering and power brakes, he assured me that it did. I asked for more photos and received a set that was for an expired listing on E-Bay. He was asking $2,000 less than the high bid on E-bay and the car on E-Bay had no power options. I dropped the connection like a hot potato.
