there are 2 ports for vaccum lines on the motor. my vacumm line comes off the base of the carburator and hooks to the port toward the passenger side, the other port toward the driver side is plugged off.wipers work fine. was just wondering if this was correct and why there are 2 ports on the motor. if some one knows i would appreciate an answer.thanks so much.

The answer to your question is on page 2-17 of the Club's fine 41-48 book. If you had an early vacuum motor used between 42-46, the control had three vacuum ports, two of which were connected to the wiper motor, with the third, center, hose to the intake manifold. The later, 47-48, used a cable to switch the wiper on and off. It is likely that the two hose configuration was retained so replacement wiper motors, mostly Trico, could be used in both early or late Fords.
