I am the owner of a 1940 Ford pickup which has been accepted as a concours entry at a car show in Carmel Ca in August. The organizers have asked me to identify a model number or type to better describe the vehicle. Can anyone direct me to a reference which would iidentify different models or body types ford 1940 pickup trucks?

Would it be safe to add that it is a 1/2 ton PU?
Was there such a thing as a 3/4 ton model in 1940?

If it's a 1/2 ton pickup, I'd include that. I'm assuming that it has a full-sized V8, and not the V8-60. I'm not sure that there was a 3/4 ton in 1940 that used the passenger car "standard" front end sheet metal. The heavier chassis used the truck-style "coffin-shaped" hood, and different fenders with pylon-mounted headlights. (See attached).
