  how does the trunk light work on a 46 ford super deluxe? i cant get mine to work. changed blub

  If it's the authentic lamp and my memory serves me correctly, the switch is a mercury type. So, by opening the lid, the mercury slides back within the switch and completes the circuit. Not certain how one would go about repairing a faulty switch.
They do become available on eBay fairly often, NOS.

  It is also important to note that the trunk light is powered by the same circuit as the license plate light and the tail lights. So, it will not come on, even if the switch works, unless the tail lights are on. If you haven't tried it with the tail lights on be sure you do that.
