Unable to keep 2 hubcaps from popping off. Wheels seem fine although the clips may be a bit off. Any ideas with adhesives or possible drilling? Afraid of trying anymore without a solution.....

Don't know how the 36 caps are held on but I use Velcro strips on my 47 caps to keep them from rattling. May work on yours. If I can find my camera I'll post a picture. Old Henry (The older I get, the better old looks.)

If all of the clips are intact I'd suggest taking a drift with at minimum a 1/4" round tip and placing it near the bend in the clip, give it a blow with a 1# hammer. You'd be amazed at how much this little "trick" often helps.

Had the same problem with my 36. Answer: A few dabs of rtv around the edge. Apply, wipe of excess that squishes out, let dry aprox 24 hours...and done. I lost several hiubcaps, but none in the 500 miles I have driven since applying the RTV. I heard this from someone else who had successfully used this solution.

While we are on the subject of hub caps, I have never been able to find what is the correct hubcap for the 36 Ford. I have several, some of which the script goes in and several where the script goes out and several with a base cap and with a swedged or pressed on outer cap which I have seen painted with the body color. I am confused. When I refer to the 35/36 Bible, and other references, I find nothing to help my confusion. Dicker Dick Kurtz

1936 are 'innies' and 1937 are 'outies'. the stamping on the stainless in 1936 is stamped in, and the stamping on the 1937 is raised out (or stamped out).
