Topic: Battery Carrying Strap

Anyone know where I can buy the battery carrying strap? Mine was a plastic strap with clamps that fit over the battery posts. I had mine for over 40 years and it must have been lost in a move.

I haven't seen those for a long time. They were abandoned due to the risk of a falling battery breaking and showering the user with acid. Many of us have gone to the "saturated glass mat"' commonly the Optima. This is not only safer to handle, but ends the usual rotting of the battery tray and firewall in the car.

Most new batteries now come with a carry strap. I couldn't find my carry strap the other day and went to Napa Auto Parts and got one. They are not easy to find and some parts stores didn't even know what I was talking about. I think it cost me about $6.

  Look on Amazon.com, e.g., http://www.amazon.com/K-D-Tools-Battery-Carrying-Strap/dp/B000CO9NTI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1373385153&sr=8-1&keywords=battery+carrying+strap
