I am cleaning up the doors on my '53 Vic...I can't seem to find the verticle window channels for the doors. I can find anti rattle kits but the kit does not include the fuzzy verticle channels... anyone know of another option I might use?...If I can find some new inserts I think I can glue them in with black silicone...any ideas? There are suppliers out there that have the fuzzy channels in long lengths. You then cut to proper size. You can try calling Carpenter or Drake, although I would check out Hemmings. I remember that there is a company in the far corner of the Red Field during Hershey -- but that won't help now. Try Steele Reproductions. Sorry, but these are just suggestions.

If Dennis Carpenter does not have a kit for your car, Restoration Specialties sells generic fuzzy strips and moleskin to line the lower channels. I did that with my 40 Mercury as no one makes a kit for it. http://stores.restorationspecialties.com/StoreFront.bok?cart_id=121258713 Tom

The Victoria and Convertible have stainless trim around the glass. As a result,the window channel needs to be wider than a standard glass window channel. I believe the width is close to 3/8 inch. Suggest you measure the width of the glass and trim and, as others have said, try Restoration Specialties. Another idea is to inquire at auto glass shops in your town. They may have old stock on hand.

Well I talked about the window channel with my wife and she suggested we look at "Jo-Ann Fabrics". She found some nice black felt fabric that looks like it will work fine. I cut it to lenght and put black silicone adhesive in the channel...then folded the too wide piece of felt, inserted it into the channel and put the channels on the door glass, then held it all together with some rubber bungee straps...(let it sit for a day and 1/2) trimmed the excess felt off and it looks great!
