which aftermarket hood ornament does the club recognize? why i ask, is that I have been looking for a locking ornament with ribs which I thought was the only one Ford recognized. I have a "Franklin locking ornament" on my car now..and it has wings. I saw on the back of the newest Early Ford mag, a '37 tudor with what it looks like the same ornament...this is a pic of my Franklin.

Jeremy, The locking hood ornament you describe is an authorized Ford accessory, and as such, is accdeptable without deduction for type on the Concourse at a V8 club event. The only other hood ornament produced for Ford is the non locking smooth body type. All others would draw a deduction, although a very minor one, of one or two points maximum. ]In my opinion, anyone having an ornament as nice as yours appears to be should be proud to displayit on their car.
