I think I scr*w*d up. Went to start the car (1936) and the battery was dead. So I put it on charge, when it was fully charged I noticed I left the ignition on during charge, now the car won't start. Any suggestions

I would look at the points. Usually this situation will melt them

I read in another post it is possible that I fried the coil, is there a way to check it

Most of us have done it, and it is 99% likely the coil is cooked. An inexpensive way to prevent it is to install one of the master switches on the battery. Most sell for about ten bucks. It will prevent electrical fires , and lessen the odds that the vehicle will be stolen, as well.

Can you get the coil rebuilt or buy new

Try Skip Haney. He rebuilt my coil. Works good. http://www.fordcollector.com/coils.htm . . . 78-73B

Skip is an old pro. His rebuilds are better than new, in my opinion. He can rebiuld to suit the application, such as conversion to 12 volts.
